Policy and Shipping

Q. Can I change my order after I have approved the final design?
A. Possibly, if the manufacturing process has not started or it isn’t so far along that your changes are possible, then yes we will incorporate the requested change(s). However, if the manufacturing process has started and is so far along the changes you want are impossible, the order cannot be changed.

Q. Do you have a return policy?
A. All Sales are FINAL after the design approval and manufacturing has commenced. No Returns on custom, personalized items. Items such as Memorial Vases and Cremation Urns that do not have a personalized engraving have a 10 day full refund policy from the day of delivery of item. The Customer is responsible for return shipping charges.

Q. I need my monument placed in another state, can you do that?
A.We deliver monuments throughout the Continental United States, but we do not set monuments in the cemeteries outside the Central Texas area. However, we will assist you in locating a professional in the cemetery of your choice who will set the monument. This will incur additional charges from the company who sets the monument.

Q. What happens if a monument is shipped and damaged en route?
A. We will replace the monument at no charge. Once the monument is delivered and signed for it is no longer Kempner Monuments responsibility.

Q. How long before my monument is delivered and set?
A. On regular orders we try to have everything completed in 8 to 12 weeks. We will notify you when your monument has been manufactured and when it will be set in the cemetery.

Q. Can you match a granite base to an existing monument?
A. Granite colors vary, even from the same quarry but we can find granite that will coexist pleasantly with your monument.

Q. Do you contact the cemetery to insure my monument complies with any restrictions they might have?
A. Yes, Kempner Monuments will contact the cemetery and make sure the monument you have chosen will comply with all their restrictions. This also includes restrictions relating to setting the monument. The manufacturing process does not start until this information is confirmed.

Q. Can the cemetery refuse the headstone that I purchased?
A. No, as long as the headstone meets their requirements they are legally bound to accept the headstone.

Q. Do you do "rush" orders?
A. Yes, however, we will need to be notified as soon as possible so we can determine if your timelines are possible. Rush charges could apply.

Q. I need my monument placed in another state, can you do that?
A. We deliver monuments throughout the Continental United States, but we do not set monuments in the cemeteries outside the Central Texas area. However, we will assist you in locating a professional in the cemetery of your choice who will set the monument. This will incur additional charges from the company who sets the monument.

Q. Can I purchase a custom size monument?
A. Yes, custom colors and sizes are available. Please call for more details. The custom size and color must comply with the cemetery restrictions.

Q. Do flat (flush to the ground) monuments require a base?
A. No, however possible cemetery restrictions must be considered.

Q. Can I add a picture to my monument?
A. Yes, we have several mounting choices you may pick from.

Q. Do (must) the bronze headstones have a stone base?
A. Yes, they need a base, usually granite. Of course cemetery restrictions may also apply.

Q. What is an epitaph?
A. Probably the most famous epitaph is the simple, “Rest in peace”. An epitaph is a short phrase or poem usually inspired by the decedent’s accomplishments and life. A epitaph can be included on many monument designs.

Q. How is the granite marker personalized?
A. You select the artwork and text that will applied to your monument. Your artwork and text is then deeply sandblasted into the granite. Dye (which is much better than paint) is applied to the sandblasted area on the marker. All grey markers will be stained black and all black markers will be stained light gray or white. All of this is done with your previous approval.

Q. Can you match a granite base to an existing monument?
A. Granite colors vary, even from the same quarry but we can find granite that will coexist pleasantly with your monument.

Q. Do you paint the inside of the letters on the monument to make them more readable?
A. We, as do most monument companies, use dye which is far superior to paint. All grey markers will have black letters and all black markers will have light gray or white letters.

Q. Do you make monuments for pets?
A. Absolutely! The same process is used for pet memorials that is used for all other monument manufacturing.
